March 2008, Buffalo Sculpin-Yaquina Bay
Buffalo
Sculpin- As promised-a not so gamey fish - taken in a crab trap in Yaquina Bay at Newport, OR. This is one big sculpin- and as horney as it is big. Those horns are sharp and sting. Oddly, I caught his twin in another crab trap half a mile away the same day.

Rainbow- Snake River-Oxbow Reservoir
Day 6 in eastern Oregon -Rainbow trout- Flycaught below Oxbow Reservoir at the confluence of Pine Creek and the Snake River in Hells Canyon on the Oregon side. Too early for Brownlee\Oxbow warm water fishing but trout fishing was good!Apr.7,2008 Hells Canyon Mountains
Day 5 in eastern Oregon. Panorama of snow capped mountains near Hells Canyon on the Snake river. Lots of snow pack on all the mountain ranges in eastern Oregon. Should make for good fishing all summer!Brown Trout-Owyhee River
April 6- Day 4. Hefty brown- one of several fly caught- on the Owyhee river in southeast Oregon desert country. The river emerges from Owyhee reservoir and is managed for catch and release trophy browns...they are big here!
Lahontan Cutthroat- Mann Lake
Day 2 eastern Oregon- April 4, 2008 A cold, wind swept landscape. Conditions weren't great and fishing was slow- lake level lowest I have seen it in 15 years. Caught several lahotans on flies.

Day 1 in eastern Oregon- One of five fly caught rainbows from Chickahomany located in the high desert.
